PROFILE
Capt. John Cafiero grew up fishing  just about every day on Long Beach Island, NJ. He had is own row boat at the early age of 7 and his first power boat at the age of 12. At age 13, his first job was commercial clamming in Barnegat Bay. He currently owns Axis Builders, LLC a local home remodeling, maintenance and management company. He is married to a wonderful supportive wife and has 5 children, 3 dogs, and of course fish!

EXPERIENCE
LICENSED CAPTAIN — 2007- PRESENT
Captain Cafiero has been running his 2007 33’ HydraSports Vector Express with triple Evinrude 250 HP E-Tec motors. He fishes inshore for striped bass, bluefish, fluke, weakfish, sea bass, blackfish, and croakers. His experience excels offshore fishing for tuna, marlin, swordfish, sharks and mahi.

TOURNAMENTS:
While Captain Cafiero has not won any tournaments to date he did get his boat into some big tuna in the 2008 Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Tournament. Seafood weighed in a 78.1 LB. Yellowfin Tuna amongst several others of similar sizes, which was close to third by just a bit. Cafiero’s Seafood also was entered 2008 Mako Mania and Mako Fever Tournaments. While they didn’t win it they did catch the biggest shark of the tournament. The biggest shark was caught in day 2 with a 425 LB Thresher Shark, which was released. Day one, was a good one too with a 125 LB Mako, and a 300 LB Thresher Shark amongst several blue sharks. 2009 was when Capt. Cafiero caught a 50.34 LB Cow of a striped bass! A tournament win is long overdue!
